US Still Hopeful about Meeting with North Korean Leader
Donald Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Even though Pyongyang is angry, the United States assumes that the planned meeting with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un continues.
“We are still hopeful that the meeting will take place and we will continue to follow that path, but at the same time we are prepared for this to be difficult negotiations,” says a White House spokeswoman for The English News.
North Korea has threatened to cancel the summit between leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump on June 12th. Pyongyang is angry about the military exercises that the Americans hold up to May 25 with South Korea.
Planned reconciliation talks between senior officials from North and South do not go ahead for that reason.
