US Government No Longer Sees Anything in Hydroxychloroquine Against Corona

The United States government is taking its hands off the alleged corona fighters hydroxychloroquine and the related chloroquine.

The drug watchdog FDA has decided that the two drugs should no longer be administered in an emergency for treatments against the coronavirus.

According to the agency, which claims to rely on new evidence, the drugs are unlikely to be effective against corona. For example, hydroxychloroquine does not appear to prevent infections.

The drug is actually intended against malaria, and US President Trump still praised it.

Combined with an antibiotic, it could become one of the most significant breakthroughs in the history of medicine, the president said.

He is said to have taken the two drugs himself as a precaution after some corona infections in his environment.
