Trump: Searching For the Vaccine is Like Developing the Nuclear Bomb

US President Trump has presented the project to accelerate the search for a vaccine against the coronavirus.

 

He compared the efforts of the so-called Operation Warp Speed with the development of the nuclear bomb in World War II, the Manhattan Project.

Trump also explained the name of the operation, which refers to the so-called warp speed in the television series Star Trek. Spaceships travel faster than the speed of light.

He hopes to be able to achieve results as soon as possible, intending to have a vaccine at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

Warp Speed aims to develop, test and produce a vaccine faster than usual, Trump said.
