The Russian Police Arrested Lyubov Sobol Before A Demonstration in Moscow
The Russian police arrested activist and lawyer Lyubov Sobol before a demonstration in Moscow. Sobol posted a video on her Twitter account where you can see how the police invade her office.
Last weekend, Sobol was also secured before a demonstration. She is a supporter of opposition leader Aleksej Navalni.
Opponents of the Putin government have been protesting for some time against the exclusion of candidates in the upcoming elections in and around Moscow on 8 September. Opposition candidates may not compete with the authorities.
This Saturday 100,000 demonstrators are expected in the Russian capital. Unlike previous actions, the authorities have permitted this demonstration. It could be the biggest protest in years.
