Tennis Star Mladenovic Thinks the Situation at the US Open is A Nightmare

Kristina Mladenovic has sharply criticized the organizers of the US Open. The tennis player from France thinks the conditions for the participants are terrible.

“It is a nightmare we are going through here. I want to get my freedom back,” the world’s number 44 told L’Equipe.

“I can tell you so many things that happened to us here. It’s awful how they treated us. “

Benoit Paire, the fellow countryman of Mladenovic, tested positive for corona. Mladenovic had still been in contact with him and therefore has to meet strict requirements.

“We have no freedom of movement, no identity, nothing. I have the imprint that we are prisoners, some criminals. We are powerless”, says the tennis star.

“If I had identified in advance that the consequences would be so great, I would never have participated here.”

Mladenovic handed over a certain seeming victory at the US Open on Wednesday. She led 6-1 and 5-1 against Russian Varvara Gratsjeva, but still lost 1-6 7-6 (2) 6-0. Mladenovic left four-game points unused.
