Scholz and Macron Urge Putin to Silence Weapons

The leaders of Germany and France have called on the Russian president for an immediate state-fire in Ukraine.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Emmanuel Macron made it clear to Vladimir Putin in a video call that a solution to the conflict must come from negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
These have so far yielded nothing, and it turned out again on Thursday after a conversation between the foreign ministers of both countries in Turkey.
The three leaders agreed to maintain close contact in the coming days, a German government official said.
