Prime Minister Johnson Cancels Working Visit After Expressing Regret

After going through the dust on Wednesday to attend a party in the garden of his official residence during a lockdown, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has cancelled a working visit to the north of England.

The trip to Lancashire was cancelled because a family member had tested positive for the coronavirus.

As prescribed, the head of government limits contact with others and is tested daily, a spokesperson said. Vaccinated people are not required to self-isolate after contact with an infected person in the UK. Johnson lives in Downing Street with his wife Carrie and their two young children.

This time the Prime Minister is following the rules. He apologized to parliament on Wednesday for his attendance at the May 2020 garden party, which he said at the time was a “working meeting”.

Not only the opposition thinks he should resign, but some members of his own conservative party also consider his position no longer tenable. Instead, Johnson wants to wait for the investigation into possible violations of the corona rules during several festive gatherings.
