Number of Coronavirus Deaths in Germany Exceeds 3000

The number of coronavirus deaths in Germany has exceeded 3000. This is evident from an American census based on media reports.

 

The German news agency DPA, on the other hand, talks about 2,942 deaths but points out that official figures from the sixteen federal states come at different times.

The dead are registered corona cases. The actual number may be higher.

In comparison to other major European countries, the death rate in Germany is relatively low at 36 corona deaths per million inhabitants, according to the American website Worldometer.

In Spain and Italy, for example, the number of reported corona deaths per million inhabitants is much higher, namely 374 and 329. By comparison, the Netherlands is 165 per million.
