Man Narrowly Escapes Flames During Wildfires in Colorado

Tens of thousands of people have already been evacuated because of the wildfires in the US state of Colorado. One of them is Robert Gutierrez, who barely escaped the flames.

 

Another driver warned him to turn around, after which he was able to drive past some fierce flames a little further on. “That driver probably saved my life; the flames were already around me,” Gutierrez said afterwards.

The forest fires have already caused a lot of damage.

Hundreds of homes were destroyed by the blaze, at least six people were injured. There are currently no fatalities. Fallen power poles are believed to be the cause of the fire.
