Elon Musk Introduces Humanoid Robot Tesla Bot

Elon Musk unveiled Tesla’s latest project on Thursday. The technology company is working on a humanoid robot.

 

The Tesla Bot will perform repetitive or dangerous tasks and will be designed with the same technology as the company’s self-driving cars.

The Tesla Bot will have five fingers on its hands and a black and white androgynous silhouette. “Tesla is surely the most significant robotics company in the world because the cars are semi-conscious robots on wheels, with an on-board computer precisely for autonomous driving,” said Elon Musk.

According to Musk, it is a logical step that all this is now cast in a ‘human form’.

Musk unveiled his latest project during an online presentation, which focused on developing autonomous driving technologies. The aim was to attract new engineers. Watch some excerpts from that presentation in the video above.

The first prototype of the Tesla Bot should be ready next year.
