Deceased Agent Laid Out in Parliament After Storming
The US parliament has decided on an unusual tribute for a deceased agent. Brian Sicknick, 42, was killed when supporters of President Donald Trump stormed parliament in Washington.
He is now laid out in that same parliament building, the Capitol.
The agent was seriously injured when supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol early this month. The angry crowd overran the police and forced their way into the building.
Sicknick has been hit in the head with a fire extinguisher and later died of his injuries. This raised the death toll from the riots to five.
Prominent Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer said in a joint statement that parliament is mourning Sicknick’s death.
According to politicians, he helped save lives and defend the Capitol. At the time of the storm, that was approving the result of the presidential election lost by Trump.
