British Engine Manufacturer Rolls-Royce Plans to Build Small Nuclear Reactors

British engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce plans to build small nuclear reactors in the United Kingdom. Rolls-Royce, BNF Resources and Exelon Generation Limited will jointly invest £195 million over three years, and the British government will inject £210 million.

 

According to Rolls-Royce, the operations could “create up to 40,000 jobs”.

The American tech giant Google has bought a 53-hectare plot of land in the Ecopôle business park in Farciennes to build its sixth Belgian data centre. That is what De Tijd, L’Echo and Sudinfo write. Google had its eye on the site east of Charleroi in 2019, but the purchase then went awry after leaks in the press. The sale is now complete, although the company has not yet officially confirmed it.

The two directors of Greenpeace Germany and a climate activist have filed a lawsuit in the court in Braunschweig against the German car group Volkswagen (VW) because they believe the carmaker is not making sufficient efforts to protect the climate. Greenpeace will also support a similar lawsuit by an organic farmer before another German regional court, the environmental organization reports.

Hackers have managed to get hold of data from approximately 7 million customers of the American investment app Robinhood. The company itself has announced this. The robbery happened last Wednesday. According to the company, the hackers were able to get hold of the email addresses of about 5 million customers and the full names of another group of about 2 million people.
