A Brazilian Judge Has Ordered President Jair Bolsonaro to Wear A Face Mask

A Brazilian judge has ordered President Jair Bolsonaro to wear a face mask on public places. The court order was announced on Tuesday.

The right-wing populist has attended several political rallies in the capital Brasilia without any form of face protection.

The federal judge told Bolsonaro to impose a fine of 2,000 real per day as long as he continues to violate district ordinances designed to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

More than 51,000 deaths from the virus have been registered in Brazil, but the actual number is said to be much higher.

The virus has been diagnosed in more than 1.1 million Brazilians.
